How It Works
Does it work on cellular data too?
Yes — on Android devices. Work4WiFi controls internet access at the device level and applies to both Wi‑Fi and cellular data on Android. iOS cellular control is not supported.
Do you need root or a factory reset?
No. Install normally, grant the requested permissions, and you're rolling.
Does this replace my router?
No. Work4WiFi works alongside your existing router. The app runs on your child's Android device and controls internet access at the device level. If you add the Hub, it plugs into your router with a cable—your router stays exactly as it is.
What about gaming consoles, Steam Deck, or PCs?
Yes — with the Work4WiFi Hub. The Hub provides router-level blocking for devices on your home network, including gaming consoles, Steam Deck, smart TVs, and PCs.
Kids can use any device with a camera and Wi‑Fi—including Apple devices—to submit chore photos, while the Hub enforces network access at the router. Learn more about the Hub.
AI Verification
What if the AI gets it wrong?
Parents always have the final say. If the AI incorrectly rejects a chore, the parent can manually approve it from the dashboard with one tap. You can also adjust AI sensitivity in settings.
What if chores are rejected?
The AI gives kids friendly, specific feedback—like "Looks like there are still items on the counter"—so they know exactly what to fix. Kids can resubmit as many times as needed. No arguments with you required.
Security & Bypass Prevention
How hard is it to bypass?
Work4WiFi is built to be difficult to bypass without leaving fingerprints.
If a child attempts common bypass tactics, parents are alerted and the device becomes unusable until restarted—which also forces Work4WiFi to restart.
What happens if my child tries to uninstall the app?
Work4WiFi uses Device Admin permissions which prevent casual uninstalls. If a child attempts to disable admin permissions, parents are immediately notified via the dashboard and push notification.
Privacy & Data
Does it spy on my kids?
Absolutely not. Work4WiFi only sees chore photos that kids voluntarily submit. There's no location tracking beyond the optional GPS auto-disable feature, no screen monitoring, no message reading, and no browsing history collection.
Who can see my child's chore photos?
Only your family. Each family's photos live in their own secure, locked container. No human outside your family will ever see them. The AI processes photos for verification only and doesn't retain or train on your data.
Scheduling & Control
Is there a schedule mode (bedtime / school hours)?
Work4WiFi includes flexible scheduling for custody arrangements (alternating weeks/weekends), inactive days, and date-based periods. Time-of-day schedules (bedtime, school hours) are on our roadmap. The core focus remains earned access through completed chores.
Can I override anything?
Yes—everything. Approve or reject any chore manually, grant bonus WiFi time, instantly block or unblock devices, and adjust AI settings. You're always in full control.
What if my kids are at the other parent's house?
Use Away Mode to pause blocking entirely, or set up a custody schedule that automatically disables blocking on days they're not with you.
